Bureau Veritas International Shipment Guidelines

The following is a list of suggestions in order to assure quick delivery of international samples/supplies to Bureau Veritas. These recommendations should be followed whenever possible.

1. Use a carrier who has import/export authority. This will allow the individual carrier to oversee every step of the delivery process. Bureau Veritas recommends Federal Express as their preferred carrier. By using this or a similar carrier, samples can be delivered right to our front door with minimal delay. 2. When using a carrier who does not act as there own customs broker please send all packages the following way: Use this option only when option 1 is not available.

3. Contact Bureau Veritas with either a tracking number or master Air Way Bill number once the shipment has been made. This is to ensure Bureau Veritas is aware of the incoming shipment, and can assist early on if an unexpected delay is encountered. 4. Suggestions to avoid customs delays and ensure quick delivery:

A.)  List items as "air samples", or "dust samples", "for analysis only".
B.)  Limit the declared value of the samples to a minimum. State value as "of no commercial value, assigned (x value, less than $200 US) for customs purposes".
C.)  Include the name and number of our customs broker on paperwork if not shipping via FedEx or similar overnight package delivery service.
